Removing the Association Between a Symbol and a Shared Function

You can remove a symbol association from the shared object definition of a shared function.

Note

If an instance of the shared function that is placed in a design uses the symbol, you cannot remove the symbol association. If you delete all instances of the shared function that use the symbol you will not be able to remove the symbol association from the shared object definition until the design has been saved.

Procedure

  1. Right-click the shared function that you want to remove a symbol association from and select Edit Shared Function. The Edit Shared Function Dialog Box displays.

  2. Select the Symbols tab. In the list of symbols, select the symbol that you want to remove and click Remove.

  3. Click OK.

Results

  • The symbol is removed from the object’s shared object definition.
