Bundle Configuration

Creating a Variant Bundle

You can enter variant lengths against a bundle, enabling the length of the bundle to change according to the options (and therefore, the derivatives) in which it appears.

Note

The following steps detail the process for creating a new bundle as a variant. To add a variant length to an existing bundle, refer to the topic Editing the Attributes and Properties of a Bundle for information on how to edit an existing bundle, and then see the section detailing the Variant tab of the Edit Bundle Dialog Box for a description of creating a new variant length.

Procedure

  1. Press Space Bar and enter Define Bundle. The Add Bundle Dialog Box is displayed.

  2. Select a Dimension type of Static, and enter a length value into the field to the right (this value is held against the composite only).

  3. Select the Variant tab.

  4. Click into an empty Variant Expression cell.

  5. Enter an variant expression, either by typing into the field or by clicking the ellipsis (...) button and using the Variant Expression Editor Dialog Box.

  6. Enter a Variant Length.

  7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 until all variant lengths have been entered.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Place the bundle using one of the methods described in Defining a Bundle.

Results

  • The bundle is added to the diagram and Harness Design Browser.

  • Once placed, the following bundle entities are displayed: The start and end nodes
