Creating a Device

You can create a device, assign property details as well as pin and footprint information, and save the newly created device into your component library.

Procedure

1. Click the create icon to create a new device. The Create Device dialog box is displayed.
2. Enter a part number.
3. Specify the Group name of the Device, a description, status, color code, material code and type code. Certain fields offer suggestions of entries based on the text entered.
4. Further frames allow you to specify Properties, Pin Details, Footprints and any Extra information required.
5. Click the save icon to save the new device. The values specified are added to the device and lodged in the Component Library.

Note: If you attempt to navigate from any page without having clicked the save icon, a message is displayed asking for confirmation that you wish to proceed without having saved your changes.

Results

The device is now created.
