Entered Mix Rate

versus Calculated Mix Rate

When you enter mix rates for vehicle models, the system calculates mix rates for those where you have not entered a mix rate.

If any vehicle models do not have a user-entered mix rate, the system calculates an even distribution of the remaining unallocated percentage.

If the combination of entered mix rates cannot be made to reach 100.00%, the system distributes the error evenly to all vehicle models, ensuring that no vehicle model results in a negative mix rate.

Scenario 1: User has entered mix rates for some vehicle

models but not all

2: User has entered mix rates for all vehicle models as zero

Scenario

3: User has entered mix rates for all vehicle models but total is not 100%

System calculates as follows:

• Scale = 100/Total allocation = 100/40 = 2.5

• Calculated VM1 mix rate = scale X MixRate(VM1) = 2.5 * 10 = 25

• Calculated VM2 mix rate = scale X MixRate(VM2) = 2.5 * 30 = 75

The HTML report on an option in the Take Rate Editor dialog box will show the following for VM1: Mixed Rate: entered = 10% calculated = 25% error = 15%

Scenario

4: User has entered mix rates for all vehicle models but the total is greater than 100%

Note

Mix rates with a total greater than 100% are only possible when they have been imported into Capital.

System calculates as follows:

• Scale = 100/Total Allocation = 100/120

• Calculated VM1 mix rate = scale X MixRate(VM2) = (100/120) * 40 = 33.33

• Calculated VM2 mix rate = scale X MixRate(VM1) = (100/120) * 80 = 66.66

The HTML report on an option in the Take Rate Editor dialog box will show the following:

• For VM1: Mixed Rate: entered =40% calculated =33% error =27%

• For VM2: Mixed Rate: entered =80% calculated =67% error =27%

Note

The calculated rates display as 33 and 67 due to rounding.

Scenario

5: User has entered mix rates for some vehicle models and total is greater than 100%

Note

Mix rates with a total greater than 100% are only possible when they have been imported into Capital

• Scale = 100/Total Allocation = 100/150

• Calculated VM2 mix rate = scale X MixRate(VM2) = (100/150) * 60 = 40

The HTML report on an option in the Take Rate Editor dialog box will show the following:

• For VM1: Mixed Rate: entered =90% calculated =60% error =30%

• For VM2: Mixed Rate: entered =60% calculated =40% error =20%

• For VM3: Mixed Rate: entered =0% calculated =0% error =0%
