Enabling the

Embedded Capital Cable Router in NX

You must enable the embedded Capital Cable Router application in NX to access the interface from the NX ribbon.

Restrictions and Limitations

• To enable the integration, the Capital Cable Router and NX software releases must match or be within one or two releases. If one of the software releases is older than two releases, you must contact your Siemens representative to update the software. See the “NX and Capital Cable Router Builds” table in the Capital & VeSys Supported MCAD Integrations (Siemens) Knowledge Base article for example software releases.

• If your NX installation is on a virtual machine, you must update the graphics drivers to support OpenGL, and deactivate the Microsoft remote display adapter, to ensure that content is displayed on the Discovery Center and part tabs in NX. See Configuring the VMware Graphics Card, and consult your IT support if required.

Prerequisites

• You must have the necessary license and license configuration and setup for the product part number “Capital NX Integration Ap SW”.

• Start the Capital Integration Server and Capital Cable Router Server from the Capital installation folders.

Procedure

1. From NX, click File > Utilities > Customer Defaults.The Customer Defaults dialog box displays.

2. Click Cable Router > General.

3. Specify the same URL used inside your web browser to access Capital Cable Router, and then click OK.Copy` — Host name or IP address of the machine running the Capital Cable Router server.

Port — Port number configured in the ccrsconfig.xml file located in the config\cablerouter folder of your Capital installation. See also “ccrsconfig.xml File Format” in the Install Guide for Capital Cable Router.

Note You must configure the embedded Capital Cable Router application with a secure connection (https) and configure the secured port on which CIS is running. See “Configuring CIS to Run in Secure or Non-Secure Mode” in the Install Guide for Capital Cable Router.

4. Right-click the toolbar in NX and select Cable Router.Tip You might need to restart NX to display the Cable Router tab.

Results

• The Cable Router tab is available on the ribbon in NX.
