Variant Expression Editor

Dialog Box

To access: Click the ellipsis button in the Variant Expression field on the Add Bundle Dialog Box or Edit Bundle Dialog Box Variant tab. Click the ellipsis button in the Variant field on the Node Position Utility Dialog Box.

Used to assign options or variant functional codes or variant production codes to bundle length variants or component position variant expressions.

Objects

Field	Description
Expression Type Panel	This panel only displays if the dialog box is accessed from Capital Harness Designer Modular. It displays a radio set choice of Option Expression, Production Variant Code, and Functional Variant Code. The selection made determines the content of the Expression Builder panel.
Option Expression	Select to display all Options assigned to the design in the Expression Builder panel in the lower part of the dialog box.
Functional Variant Code	Select to display all the Functional Variant codes assigned to the design in the Expression Builder panel in the lower part of the dialog box.
Production Variant Code	Select to display all the Production Variant codes assigned to the design in the Expression Builder panel in the lower part of the dialog box.
Expression Builder Panel	In Capital Harness Designer, this panel displays all Options available for selection. In Capital Harness Designer Modular, this panel displays all Options available for selection or a list of all the Functional Variant Codes or Production Variant Codes available for selection in the design depending on the choice made in the Expression Type panel.
Options	All Applicable Options assigned to the design. To add an option to the expression, double-click the option name. Displays by default in Capital Harness Designer, or if Option Expression is selected in the Expression Type panel in Capital Harness Designer Modular. Mandatory.
Operators	The mathematical symbols available from which you can construct an option expression. Optional. To add an operator to the expression, double-click the operator. The operators available are: &&[and] The component to which the option expression is assigned appears on only those derivatives with both options assigned.
Expression	Contains the complete expression constructed from the Options and Operators available. You can also type an expression into this field instead of selecting from the lists. Displays by default in Capital Harness Designer, or if Option Expression is selected in the Expression Type panel in Capital Harness Designer Modular. Mandatory.
