Conductors > Adding Multiple Connections > Auto-Connecting Pins by Match Criteria
Match Criteria
You can specify the match criteria using the Define Match Criteria Table in the Capital Logic Designer > Connectivity > Connectivity Match project preference.
Figure 113: Define Match Criteria Table With Default Criteria
The system evaluates all pins on the diagram, determines the matching pins, and generates the connectivity when you invoke the Connect By conductor action.
Figure 114: Example Connectivity Generated by Match Criteria Pin Name
See the following examples of how the system uses the match criteria to generate and route connectivity.
Tip
To create splices between matching pins on more than two devices, select all the devices, and then invoke the Connect By conductor action. To connect matching pins using a multi-term, select two devices at a time.
| Example | Connectivity Result |
|---|---|
| Invoke Connect By conductor with all three devices selected. | |
| Invoke Connect By conductor with two devices selected. | |
| For matching pins with an existing terminating wire end. Invoke Connect By conductor with two devices selected. |
| Example | Connectivity Result |
|---|---|
| For devices with three or more matching pins, a multi-term is always created. |
For mated device pins and connector cavities, you can specify which pins to use to determine the matching pins. See the following examples of how the system determines the connectivity based on the Device Pin or Connector Cavity option selected in the Connectivity Match project preference.
| Examples | Device Pin Connectivity Result | Connector Cavity Connectivity Result |
|---|---|---|
| No | Yes | |
| Yes | No | |
