Reverting a Stud Pin

You can convert a stud pin back into a normal pin.

Procedure

Right-click a stud pin and select Convert To Normal Pin.

Results

• All instances of the stud pin are converted to normal pins.

• The pin icon in the Design Browser changes from the stud pin icon () to the normal pin icon () and the representation of the pin on the diagram changes from a circle () to a diamond ().

Note

The Convert To Normal Pin action is unavailable if:

• There is more than one ring terminal still connected to the selected stud pin.(The action is available if you disconnect ring terminals so there is only one connected to the stud pin.)

• The “Disallow pin/port duplication within a design” project preference is selected and there is more than one instance of the stud pin in the design, as converting to normal pins would result in multiple normal instance of the pin, violating the preference.

• The device has a library part associated with it.

Note

For pins on shared devices the Convert To Normal Pin action is unavailable if:

• The shared device is frozen and your user account does not have the Frozen Shared Object Pin Attributes/Properties permission set in Capital Access Manager. See “Permissions” in the Capital Access Manager User Guide.

• The pins are present on another design which is open elsewhere.

• The pins are present in another design which is set to a release level that does not permit design changes (that is, that does not have the Design Changes release level behavior). See “Release Level Behaviors” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide.
