Search

This chapter covers searching across designs, the Search pane, and how to view results in Capital Teamwork.

Search Overview

You can search objects across all designs in the selected project using tag information in the Type dropdown: Name, Part Number. Results display in the Details pane; click the hyperlink name to view the object's attributes/properties in the Details popup.

Tip: Administrators can configure search taggers to add additional search criteria to the Type dropdown, and configure a plugin to display specific attributes/properties in the Details popup.

Search Fields

The Details pane for the Search workflow shows Search Criteria and Results fields.

Search Criteria — dropdowns/fields: Type, Operator, Value. Click Search to search objects across all designs in the project. Search values are retained for future searches and display dynamically as you type in the Value field.

Results — table columns: Object Name, Object Type, Design (the design containing the object). Click the Filter icon on each column to specify which results to display — see "Filtering Tables."

Searching Objects in Designs

Prerequisite: A project is selected.

Procedure:

1. Search workflow.
2. Type dropdown → choose Name or Part Number.
3. Operator dropdown → choose: Contains, Ends With, Equals, Starts With.
4. Specify a string in the Value field → click Search.

Note: The Search button updates to a Usage button for Part Number type searches.

Results: Listed in the Results field.
