Generating Daisy Chains
You can use the “Connect Indicators with Daisy Chain” action to connect multiple multicore / overbraid indicators in a daisy chain and consolidate multiple shield terminations into one.
Prerequisites
Two or more indicators are selected on the diagram.
The indicators selected are in the same orientation (horizontal or vertical). Note You cannot use the “Connect Indicators with Daisy Chain” action to connect indicators that have different orientations.
Only one indicator per multicore / overbraid is selected.
Video
This video demonstrates how to add a daisy chain manually and how to use the “Connect Indicators with Daisy Chain” action:
Procedure
Select multiple multicore / overbraid indicators in accordance with the prerequisite rules.
Right-click and select Connect Indicators with Daisy Chain.
Results
All selected multicore / overbraid indicators are connected in a daisy chain.
If the selected multicore / overbraid indicators had multiple shield terminations that were connected to the same device pin they are consolidated into a single shield termination, with the shortest shield termination being preserved.
Examples
In the example in Figure 119, three indicators have been selected to be connected in a daisy chain. They are all individually shielded to a multi termination on device DEV1297. When the “Connect Indicators with Daisy Chain” action is run the indicators are connected in a daisy chain and the three shield terminations are consolidated into one, as shown in Figure 120.
