Editing Non-Capital

Harness Designer Authored Wires

With the preference set, when modifying wires and multicores, the system displays a series of warning messages and validation information to aid the editing task and enforce the restriction set by the project preference

Prerequisites

  • The Project Preference “Only allow Capital Harness Designer-authored wires & multicores to be edited and deleted” is set.

  • A harness containing Capital Harness Designer and non-Capital Harness Designer authored Wires and Multicores is open.

Note

The following steps illustrating the warning messages and validation information are also applicable when using the Edit Multicores dialog box.

Procedure

  1. Press Space Bar and enter Wires.A message displays warning that non-Capital Harness Designer authored wires exist in the harness.

  2. Click OK.The Edit Wires dialog box displays. All non-Capital Harness Designer authored wires display struck out as shown in Figure 222. Figure 222: Wire Strike Through

  3. Modify Capital Harness Designer-authored wires, click Apply, and then click Close.

Results

The dialog box closes and the changes are saved.

Caution

If you had edited any of the non-Capital Harness Designer authored wires at Step 3, a message, as shown in Figure 223 displays, advising that you have attempted to modify a non-Capital Harness Designer authored wire and all changes have been abandoned. Any valid modifications, made to Capital Harness Designer authored wires at the same time, are also abandoned.
