Associating Library Part Numbers to Multicores Using Batch Update

You can run Batch Update of Library Parts (BULP) to associate multicore library part numbers to multicores on the diagram.

When you create a multicore, a library part number must be available in the Part Number attribute of the multicore to enable the association. See also “Attributes table” in the General Tab (Properties Dialog Box) [Blocks].

Note

When you place or update an Interface Control Document (ICD), the following attributes are added automatically to multicores on the diagram:

Part numbers specified for multicores in the ICD are added to the Part Number attribute in the multicore.
Library inner core material codes, specifications, and colors are copied to the wires on the diagram. See also “Multicore Wires Tab” in the Capital Component Manager User Guide.

You can run BULP to associate the library part numbers to the multicores on the diagram and maintain the wire order defined in the library part.

If the library part number contains extra wires in the inner core structure compared to the multicore wires defined on the diagram, the BULP process can still assign the part number. You can specify the following Structure Match Criteria project preferences to choose how part numbers are associated to the multicores:

Exact — Select to only associate the library part numbers to multicores with a matching number of wires on the diagram.
Containment — Select to associate the library part numbers to multicores with matching or fewer wires on the diagram. Permitted to enable multicore part numbers with redundant wires in the inner core structure to be used in the design. To maintain the order of the inner cores defined in the library part with the wires on the diagram, the system matches the inner cores in the following order until successful: Match specification and color

Nothing matched, matches any single core from the library. Also true when the diagram conductor matches more than one library core.
