Exporting Cable Routes

You can schedule to export the project data on a regular basis or export files instantly to synchronize Teamcenter with the latest cable, segment, and routing status details stored in Capital Cable Router.

Restrictions and Limitations

  • To avoid export errors, you must configure Tomcat Java to English language and restart Tomcat to activate the change: Windows Add the following language options on separate lines in the Configure Tomcat applet:

Linux Modify the {CATALINA_HOME}/bin/catalina.sh file to include the Java option:

Prerequisites

  • System Administrators have specified the following parameters in the RouterExportConfiguration.xml file located in the capital_installation\config\cablerouter folder: Frequency

Project ID

Log file folder location

Destination folder location

Export configuration options in Scheduled mode: All_Routed_Cables — Exports all the routed cables in the project (default if the configuration is invalid or not specified).

Routed_since_the_last_export — Only exports the most recently routed cables since the last scheduled or on-demand export.

  • To schedule exports for more than one project, System Administrators must configure the export parameters using the RouterExportConfiguration.xml.example file in the capital_installation\config\cablerouter folder. The file must include an exportproject parameter for each of the projects to be exported. See also “RouterExportConfiguration.xml File Format” in the Install Guide for Capital Cable Router.

  • You have configured the scheduled exports during the installation. See “Configuring Scheduled Exports Using the ccrs.crt File” in the Install Guide for Capital Cable Router.

Procedure

  1. Click the Data Management icon () and the select Export Cable Details to display the details of the last scheduled export.

  2. If you have configured the RouterExportConfiguration.xml to export more than one project, click the Project ID dropdown list and choose the required project from the list of projects you have access to.The following details are displayed: Export Cables — Export configuration option.

Route Status — Lists the route status codes used to identify cables to export.

Frequency — Time and day of the scheduled export. Run every day at 1am local time by default.

Next Run Schedule — Date and time of the next scheduled export.

Configured Destination Location — Folder location to receive the exported files.

Last File Exported — Name of the log file generated after the last export.

Last Export Status — Confirms if the export was successful or failed to complete.

Log Details — Folder location of the generated log file.

  1. To invoke an instant export of the cable routing data:Click the On-Demand tab. Choose the Export Cables option:All routed cables — Exports all the routed cables in the project (default if the configuration is invalid or not specified).

Routed since the last export — Only exports the most recently routed cables since the last scheduled or on-demand export.

If you have configured the RouterExportConfiguration.xml to export more than one project, click the Project dropdown list and choose the required project to export. (Optional) You can modify the name in the Export File Name field to rename the exported file. Click the Route Status dropdown list and choose the cables to be exported based on their route status code. Click Export.

Results

  • The Scheduled export runs in the background and you can continue using Capital Cable Router while the export is running. You must wait for the On-Demand export to complete.

  • The system exports the latest cable routing data to Teamcenter using the destination location folder based on the cable route status specified in the RouterExportConfiguration.xml file.

  • When complete, you can view the details of the last export in the Log Details pane, or in the log file located in the config\cablerouter\export\logdetails folder of your Capital installation.
