Update Fixture Part Numbers

You can use this action to analyze the currently selected fixture(s), or all fixtures if none are selected, in the active diagram using the Automatic Part Number Selection Rules.

Procedure

1. Press Space Bar and enter Fixture Part Numbers.

2. Alternatively, right-click the diagram or on a fixture on the diagram or in the tree browser and select Update Fixture Part Numbers from the popup menu.

Results

The Automatic Part Number Selection Rules are applied as follows:

• If the part number is valid, it is retained (the selection of any additional components is not changed).

• If the part number is not valid: If a valid part number is found in Capital Component Manager, the action updates the fixture part number and any fixture graphics. A message is displayed in the Output window, in the format: “Part number changed from:FIX1 to: FIX3 for fixture: FIXTURE1234”.

If a valid part number is not found in Capital Component Manager, the action removes the fixture part number and any fixture graphics. A message is displayed in the Output window in the format: “Part number removed for fixture: FIXTURE1234”.

• If the fixture does not have a part number assigned and a valid part is found in Capital Component Manager, it is assigned to the fixture. Any fixture graphics are updated. A message is displayed in the Output window in the format: “Part number changed-from: (none) to: FIX1 for fixture: FIXTURE1234”.

• Once all fixtures have been processed, any fixtures with no part number assigned are logged in the Output window in the format: “No part number selected for fixture: FIXTURE19637”.
