Synchronize Harness Designs

Dialog Box

To access: Press Space Bar and enter Synchronize.

Used to configure the synchronization of logical and topological design data into harness designs, including the selection of a change policy and the mapping of harnesses on a Capital Systems Integrator plane to harness designs.

Field	Description
Configuration Tab
Source Design Type	Select the format of design from which you want to synchronize data. Choose from: Integrator Design A single design authored in Capital Systems Integrator. With this option selected, the Integrator Design Name option is enabled. Topology Design A single design authored in Capital Wiring Integrator. With this option selected, the Topology Design Name option is enabled. Logic Build List One or more designs authored in Capital Logic Designer, and then added to a build list in Capital Project Manager. See “Build List” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide. With this option selected, the Logic Build List option is enabled.
Change Policy	Select the change policy, from the dropdown list, that you want to use to specify the master source for harness data when the design(s) are synchronized. See “Creating a Change Policy” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide.
Integrator Design Name	Select the name of the Capital Systems Integrator design from which you want to synchronize harness data, from the dropdown list. This option is only available if the Source Design Type is set to Integrator Design. Mandatory.
Topology Design Name	Select the name of the Capital Wiring Integrator design from which you want to synchronize harness data, from the dropdown list. This option is only available if the Source Design Type is set to Topology Design. Mandatory.
Logic Build List	Select the build list containing the logical designs from which you want to synchronize harness data, from the dropdown list. This option is only available if the Source Design Type is set to Logic Build List. Mandatory.
Harness Build List	Select the build list containing the harness designs into which you want to synchronize harness data, from the dropdown list. Mandatory.
Available Source Designs	If you are synchronizing from a Capital Systems Integrator or Capital Wiring Integrator design, that design is listed for selection. If you are synchronizing from one or more Capital Logic Designer designs, every design available in the selected Logic Build List is listed for selection. In either case, select the design(s) from which you want to synchronize harness data. Press Ctrl+A to select or deselect all designs in the list. Mandatory. Note Designs that you do not have domain access to are not listed (see the Domains topics in the Capital Access Manager - User Guide).
Available Harness Designs	All harness designs available in the selected Harness Build List are listed. Select the designs into which you want to synchronize harness data. Press Ctrl+A to select or clear all designs in the list. Mandatory.
Harness Mapping Tab	By default, the options on this tab are completed automatically, with the harnesses found in the source designs being matched with harness designs of the same name. However, you can manually map source harnesses to harness designs, overriding the defaults, or creating new mappings if no name matching is successful.
Source Harness	This column displays all harnesses found in the selected source design(s). This includes Harness attributes specified against logical design objects, and harness definitions in a Capital Systems Integrator design. Read-only.
Target Harness Design	By default, this column displays the harness designs selected against each incoming harness, based on name matching. To override the automatic matching, or to select a harness when no name matching has been possible, select a harness design from the dropdown list in each field. Optional.
Filter	Select the dropdown lists to apply filters and only populate required content into designs during synchronization. Optional. Choose from: None No filter is applied. The whole content of the source design, assigned to the selected harness, is populated into the target design. Applicable Options Uses the Applicable Options settings, specified in the target design, to populate content tagged with matching option expressions assigned in the source design. Untagged wires (with no option expressions) also populate the target design. Applicable Functional Module Codes (Capital Harness Designer Modular only) Uses the Applicable FM Codes settings, specified in the target design, to populate content tagged with matching module codes assigned in the source design (Capital Harness Designer Modular only). Configuration Opens the Synchronize Filter - Configurations Dialog Box to manually select predefined configurations from Capital Project Manager. Untagged wires (with no option code) also populate the target design.
Default Mapping	Click to delete all Target Harness Design selections and reselect designs based on name matching. Optional.

Usage Notes

This dialog box can be accessed without having a design open.
