Moving Spot Tape

You can re-position or move a spot tape to a different bundle.

Restrictions and Limitations

  • If a spot tape exists on a splice with an Insulation Type “Spot Tape”, the spot tape is attached to the splice and can only move when you move the splice. See Moving a Splice.

Procedure

  1. Right-click one of the following entities related to the spot tape and select Move Spot Tape:Reference node at which the spot tape is placed.

  1. Place the spot tape at the new location:If you click a node, the spot tape is anchored at that node.

If you hover the cursor over a bundle, a tooltip displays the distance between the cursor position and the adjacent node in the direction of the start of the bundle.

Note If the new position violates any rules and constraints on spot tape repositioning, the cursor changes to indicate that you cannot position the spot tape at that point and must choose a different location.

  1. Click to place the spot tape.The Node Position Utility Dialog Box is displayed.

  2. Specify the values to fine‑tune the position of the reference node created to anchor the spot tape to the bundle.

  3. Click OK to confirm the new position.

Results

The spot tape is moved and the alignment of the spot tape symbol to the reference node is preserved. See also Aligning Spot Tape.
