Connectivity Hub overview

Connectivity Hub provides key capabilities as part of the Capital Systems E/E Architecture design process, including:

  • Visualizing E/E Architecture connectivity
  • Mapping connectivity to parts
  • Saving connectivity as Capital ICDs (Interface Control Documents)
  • Generating Functional Designs from sets of ICDs

Connectivity Hub assists designers in maturing electrical designs from concept to implementation. In practice, this means mapping the conceptual electrical connectivity generated from the E/E Architecture into realized device pin connectivity, and then seamlessly flowing that connectivity downstream into detailed electrical design.

Where it fits

Connectivity Hub sits between platform-level architecture (components and pathways on a Platform Design) and detailed electrical design (schematics with real device pins). A Platform Design captures what connects to what at a conceptual level; Connectivity Hub is where that conceptual connectivity gets mapped down to actual pins on real library devices or against a published ICD, and then saved/published so downstream schematic design can consume it.

User interface

The Connectivity Hub tab surfaces:

  • ICD Management — applicable ICDs for the current project, plus ICD connectivity visualization.
  • Platform Component Connectivity — the synthesized connectivity for the selected component on the Platform Design.
  • Library Device or ICD Pin Details — the pin-level detail of whatever device or ICD you're mapping against.
