Preventing Node Snapping

When you place a reference node object on a harness diagram, the cursor usually snaps to the nearest node for ease of placement. When you are trying to place an object close to an existing node, this can be inconvenient.

You can temporarily disable snapping to nodes by holding the Shift key as you place the object.

This is applicable when placing reference node objects near reference nodes or structure nodes.

You can also hold the Shift key when placing axial dimensions to prevent snapping to the nearest node or symbol datum.

The minimum offset that can be attained when placing a reference node object next to a node is controlled by the dimensionprecision parameter in the style set (see Harness Shape Parameters in the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide).

This does not effect grid snapping (see Status Bar).
