Graphical Node Position

Utility Dialog Box

To access: On a full scale diagram, right-click the required node and select Graphical Node Position Utility.

Used to change the graphical position of reference node components.

Description

The two fields at the top of the dialog box show the current distance at which the selected node is positioned from the nodes to either side, both of which are displayed beneath the relevant field. The nodes are identified by the name of the component placed there (if present) or otherwise by the node name.

Objects

Object	Description
Reference	This is a structure node used by the system as a point of reference from which to calculate the graphical offset. Use the dropdown to select either the bundle start or end node. If you change the Reference, any Graphical Offset you have configured is automatically reset to “0”.
Original Position From Reference	This is the original physical distance between the selected node and its anchor node as named in the Reference field. Read-only.
Graphical Offset	This is the offset distance of the selected node, relative to the node named in the Reference field. Enter a positive or negative value to move the node further or nearer to the node named in the Reference field. The system automatically adjusts the two distance fields at the top of the dialog box as you enter an offset. Numeric value.

Usage Notes

• The system prevents you from configuring an offset value which would result in the graphical position of the selected node crossing the position of either of its two neighboring nodes. This would occur if you configured an offset that would create a negative value in either of the two distance fields. In such cases, the text in the distance fields displays red and the OK button is dimmed. If you hover over such a red invalid entry, a tooltip displays giving details about the invalid entry.

• You can configure a graphical offset for the selected node by: Entering a value in the Graphical Offset field

Entering a new value into either of two fields at the top of the dialog box (the other field will update automatically to reflect the change).

Dragging the slider left or right until the correct position is displayed.

• Each step on the slider will increase or decrease the node position values by an amount equal to the Physical Scale Value defined for the style set in use.
