and Editing using Capital Harness Designer LD

You can use Capital Harness Designer LD to create or edit design content on new diagrams created in Capital Harness Designer / Modular, or designs in the Capital database that have been vaulted from Capital Harness Designer LD.

Restrictions and Limitations

While the design is open in Capital Harness Designer LD, you cannot interact with or close Capital Project Manager.

Prerequisites

To create a new Capital Harness Designer LD design, you must create a new harness design in Capital Harness Designer / Modular to associate with the new design.
The Capital Harness Designer / Modular design is empty of content.
The vaulted design in the Capital database has never been edited in Capital Harness Designer / Modular.

Procedure

From Capital Project Manager, expand the Designs folder and navigate to the new (empty) harness design.
Right-click the design and select Capital Harness Designer LD > Open.The design is opened in Capital Harness Designer LD and locked from editing in Capital Harness Designer / Modular. Note If the design includes Capital Harness Designer / Modular design content that has changed since the last time it was opened in Capital Harness Designer LD, a message is displayed to warn you that if you choose to proceed, the design content changes will be overwritten. Edit the harness design including any module configurations, as required. See also Transforming Capital Harness Designer LD Modular and Composite Designs.
Save the design, and then close Capital Harness Designer LD when complete.The LD data is vaulted automatically to the Capital database and the design is unlocked. Note If the system crashes while editing the design, your changes are saved but the LD data is not vaulted to the Capital database. To complete the vault, re-open the design in Capital Harness Designer LD from Capital Project Manager, click Recover Files, and then save the design.
To transform the Capital Harness Designer LD design onto the Capital Harness Designer / Modular diagram, start Capital Harness Designer / Modular, and open the design.Note If the Capital Harness Designer LD design has changed since the last time the design was opened in Capital Harness Designer / Modular, a message is displayed to prompt you to transform the design content to keep the version up to date.
On the Workflow ribbon, click Transform Capital Harness Designer LD Content ().The Capital Harness Designer LD design is displayed on the Capital Harness Designer / Modular diagram. Note If you edit the Capital Harness Designer / Modular design before transforming the Capital Harness Designer LD design, a message is displayed to prompt you to Transform and Save to maintain the versions. To configure how the Capital Harness Designer LD design is transformed (bridged) onto the Capital diagram, click Transform Options () on the Workflow ribbon.The Transform Options dialog box opens. See the “Bridge Options Dialog Box” in the Capital Connectors User Guide for a description of the tabs in the Transform Options dialog box. Tip On the Import tab, ensure that the “Merge all redundant nodes and bundles” option is selected.

Results

The Capital Harness Designer LD design containing your last saved changes is available on the Capital Harness Designer / Capital Harness Designer Modular diagram.

The Transform tab in the Output window records the Transform details each time the action is run, and the location of the Bridge Adaptor report. See also “Bridge Reports” in the Capital Connectors User Guide.

The Transform Report tab in the Output window displays the results of the updates to the Capital Harness Designer / Modular design. See the “Apply Change Output Window” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide for a description of the columns and fields on the Transform Report tab.
