Setting up Diagrams

Opening a Diagram

This topic details how to open a diagram into the Diagram Window, either with read-write access or as read-only.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the design in the Project Browser Window and expand it until the diagram is visible.

  2. Determine how you want to open it. If you want to...

Do the following:

Open a diagram with read-write access

Either: Double-click on the diagram.

Right-click the diagram and choose Open.

The diagram is opened.

Open a diagram as read-only

Right-click the diagram and choose Open (Read Only). The diagram opens as read-only. The diagram name is appeneded with “(Read Only)” in the Diagram Window. You can view the diagram, but other users can open the same diagram with full editing access. Note If you are not using multi-user access functionality (see Harness Concurrency): Read-write / read-only access mode is available at the design revision level, not at the diagram level. You cannot open two diagrams from the same design revision in different access modes. If you have opened a diagram in either read-write or read-only mode and then open another diagram from the same design revision, it will open in the same mode. If you have opened a diagram in read-only mode and then create a new diagram, the diagram that was open in read-only mode will also become editable.
