Automatically Associating or Disassociating Bundles With Insulation Runs

Based on Diagram Graphics

You can automatically associate and disassociate multiple bundles with insulation runs based on their diagram positions.

You can control which bundles are associated with the insulation runs using the Bundle Association Exclusion design constraint.

Prerequisites

  • You have created Bundle Association Exclusion constraints to apply to any bundles that you do not want associated with the insulation runs that cover them.

Procedure

  1. On the diagram, resize the insulation runs and manipulate the bundles, so the bundles are covered by the insulation runs to which they should be associated. The bundles must be positioned inside all the layers of insulation in the insulation run in order for automatic association. Moving a bundle outside the insulation run to which it is already associated will result in the association being removed by the action.

  2. Select Automate > Rules > Auto Update Bundle Association.

Results

  • Bundles are associated with the insulation runs that cover them on the diagram.

  • Associations are removed if previously associated bundles are moved outside the insulation runs on the diagram.

  • Bundles that match any Bundle Association Exclusion constraints applied to the design are excluded from the operation.
