Pass-through Option

A key part of the wiring synthesis process in Capital Systems Integrator is to identify which option codes affect the wiring generated within each harness. This is done in both the Composite Wiring Synthesis and Modular Wiring Synthesis flows, but in both cases Capital Systems Integrator distinguishes pass-through options from directly promoted options.

A directly promoted option is one which has a clear impact on the harness. This may be due to a device placed in a slot and mapped to a connector of the harness or an option placed on a bundle within the harness.

However, a pass-through option is one that indirectly affects a harness due to options in other harnesses that impact wiring that comes into this harness through an inline connector. This may be due to a wire that ‘passes through’ this harness from one inline to another. It may also be a wire that starts in another harness and terminates in this harness. In both cases, the option codes on devices or bundles in that other harness are promoted onto wires which the carry the option code into this harness.
