Batch Share Dialog Box

To access: In the Project Browser Window on the top left of Capital Systems Modeler or Capital Systems Architect, right-click the function build list that contains the designs in which you want to share signals and messages. Choose Batch Share.

Used to share multiple signals and messages across functional designs in a function build list.

Objects

Object	Description
Display: Signal/Message	Toggle whether the table displays signals and/or messages in the table.
Show Signals/Messages with one end connected	Toggles whether the table displays only signals and messages with just one end connected. Note This is of particular interest when you have imported designs from SysML tools (see Importing a Design from a Systems Modeling Language Project). In the functional designs imported from SysML tools, if a signal or message is connected at just one end it signifies that it is connected to an the Internal Block Diagram (IBD) frame.
Add Attribute/Property Column	Click this and click Attribute/Property to display the Add Attribute/Property Column dialog box that allows you to select an attribute or property that you want to add to the table. Note Added columns can be filtered and removed by holding the mouse cursor over the column header and clicking .
Selection	Select the design-wide objects that you want to share or share into another object.
Object name	The name of the design-wide object.
Action	Whether the design-wide object will be shared to create a new shared object or shared into an existing shared object.
Design	The design where the design-wide object is located.
Matched By	The attribute or property that has been used to match the objects.
View Details / Hide Details	Expands or collapses the sections that display instance details, attribute details, and property details for the design-wide object currently selected in the table at the top of the dialog box.
Instances details	For the selected design-wide object in the top table, this displays: The diagrams in which it is located. The ports to which it connects in those diagrams. Note You can select an instance and click the button at the top right of the table to zoom to the instance and ports in the diagram window.
Attribute details	Displays the attributes for the selected design-wide object in the top table.
Properties details	Displays the properties for the selected design-wide object in the top table.
Share	Click this to perform the selected share actions.

Usage Notes

Table Usage

If you hover over a column header, the Filter button () is displayed. Click to open the Filter Popup to configure filtering on the column. If you apply a filter to the column, the symbol remains pinned to the column header.

You can click a column header to sort rows according to the values in that column, in ascending order; you can then click again to sort in descending order, and click a third time to remove sorting. The first five columns are added by default and cannot be removed. If you add additional attribute/property columns, you can remove one by clicking the Filter button () in the column header and selecting Remove Column.

In the Selection column, select the check boxes of the objects that you want to share. The check box in the Selection column is unavailable for:

Objects that match an existing shared object that is frozen. (If you hover over the check box, a tooltip indicates that the target shared object is frozen.)
Objects that match multiple existing shared objects. (This can occur if multiple shared objects all meet the matching criteria you have specified.)
Objects that match an existing shared object that has multiple revisions, and more than one of those revisions have instances placed on designs in the build list you are performing batch sharing on.
Objects that match an existing shared object that has multiple revisions, none of which have instances placed on designs in the build list you are performing batch sharing on.

The cells in the Action column are either a fixed value or a dropdown list used to select an option:

                  Indicates that no matching shared object exists. If you
                      share this object a new shared object will be created.

Share Into

                  Indicates that a matching shared object was found. If
                      you share this object it will become an instance of the existing shared
                      object. If you hover over the cell, a tooltip indicates which existing
                      shared object, and which revision of that shared object, the object
                      being shared will become an instance of.

Dropdown list

                  Indicates that no matching shared object exists, but
                      that matching non-shared objects do exist. If you share this object a
                      new shared object will be created.

                  For the first of each group of matching non-shared
                      objects you select for sharing (by selecting its check box in the
                      Selection column) the value in the Action column will change to “Share”;
                      when you select other objects in that group for sharing, their values in
                      the Action column will change to “Share Into”. You can change which
                      object is the “Share” object by changing the Action column value of one
                      of the “Share Into” objects to “Share” - the Action column value of the
                      “Share” object will automatically change to “Share Into”.

                  Note 
                      If only one object from a group of matching
                          non-shared objects is selected for sharing, its Action column value
                          will be “Share” and will be non-editable. If multiple objects from a
                          group of non-shared objects are selected for sharing, if you change
                          the “Share” object's Action column value to “Share Into”, the Action
                          column value of one of the other selected objects will change to
                          “Share”; if you change the Action column value of one of the “Share
                          Into” objects to “Share”, the Action column value of the “Share”
                          object will change to “Share Into”.

                      If you have multiple objects from a matched group
                          selected for sharing and you clear the Selection column check box
                          for the “Share” object, the value in the Action column will change
                          to “Share” for one of the other selected objects in the group of
                          matching objects. 

                  

                  If you proceed with sharing, the “Share” object is first
                      promoted to create a new shared object, and then the “Share Into”
                      objects are shared into the new shared object. This means that the
                      “Share” object is shared even if sharing of one of the “Share Into”
                      objects does not proceed (for example, because of an attribute /
                      property conflict).

                  Note 
                      For a group of matching non-shared objects, if the
                          Name attribute was not used as one of the matching criteria, the
                          names of the “Share Into” objects may differ from that of the
                          “Share” object. The new shared object will have the same name as the
                          “Share” object. When the “Share Into” objects are shared into the
                          new shared object, they will become instances of the new shared
                          object, and will therefore use its name, regardless of the names
                          they had before they were shared.

Values in the Action column are non-editable when:

There is an existing shared object that matches the non-shared object. In this case, only Share Into is available.
In the Selection column, you have selected one (and only one) of a group of matching non-shared objects that have no matching existing shared object. In this case, only Share is available. If you subsequently select the Selection column check box of other objects in the group of matching non‑shared objects, the value in the Action column is enabled and you can use the dropdown lists to specify Share or Share Into for each object in the group.

The Matched By column shows the matching criteria together with the value of each criterion for each object in the table. See Batch Share Match Criteria for a description of how to specify the criteria that are used to determine which objects are considered matches.
