Attributes and Properties Constraints Overview

You can use these constraints to automatically bulk update child design name, part number, and revision information (and other attributes and properties), when you map, copy / copy advanced, and revise child designs or import a set of designs. You can also use them to modify attributes and properties of a selection of designs.

This video shows examples of configuring and using the constrain.

You can also configure a constraint to restore any changed Name, Part Number, or Revision attribute that has been updated by the process.

Child designs include derivative, functional and production module designs, and derivative groups.

The constraints are available in the Constraint Selection Dialog Box.

For general details about using constraints and rules, see “Rules and Constraints” in the Capital Design Tools Common Functions User Guide.

You select and apply rules configured with the constraints from the following dialog boxes that include the Design Attribute Constraint selection field.

  • Harness Level Mappings Dialog Box

  • Derivative Mapping Dialog Box

  • Module Mapping Dialog Box

  • Select Child Designs Dialog Box

  • Import Designs to Project Wizard - Copying to Project Wizard Dialog Box
