Configuring Customer Defaults for 3D Electrical Design in Designcenter
NX
You must set default settings for 3D Electrical Design in Designcenter NX. Customer defaults control the initial settings and parameters of many commands and dialog boxes.
Prerequisites
- Designcenter NX and Capital are both installed on the same machine.
Procedure
In the top right of the Designcenter window, type "Early Access Feature" into the search box, and click on the result.
At the bottom of the list of early access features, select "Development" from the dropdown list.
In the list of early access development features, find Capital_EnableCapital, and enable it by right-clicking in the State column and selecting "On".
Click OK to close the Early Access Features window.
Restart Designcenter to enable the Capital integration.
In Designcenter, click File > Utilities > Customer Defaults. The Customer Defaults dialog box is displayed.
In the navigator, expand Routed System Designer (1) and select Electrical (2), then select the Capital Integration tab (3).
Configure the following default settings:
HTTP Server Port — Specifies the NX webserver port to be used for communication with Capital. The default value is 59906. Capital Install Location — specifies the location of the Capital installation being used for the integration. The environment variable CAPITAL_HOME is used as the default value. You can click Browse to select an alternative location. Capital Retry Count — This is the number of times Designcenter will attempt to communicate with the Capital server before reporting that the connection is lost.Click OK to accept the settings and close the dialog box. Click Apply to accept the settings and leave the dialog box open. Click Cancel to close the dialog box without changing any settings.
Restart Designcenter NX.
Results
Your Capital integration is now configured and ready for use.
