Recommended Paths for Partially Routed Multicores
When you use the Routing Assistant for unrouted wires from a multicore that has some wires routed already, the Routing Assistant recommends a path to maintain consistency and minimize divergence. It does this only when only you run it for partially routed multicores that you have selected in the Design Browser (Design tab). It does not do this when you run it for an inline connector.

Figure 195: Recommended Route Example - Topology Design
In this example, a multicore contains 4 wires WIRE1, WIRE2, WIRE3, and WIRE4. WIRE1 is already routed through inline connector J13 and P13.
WIRE2, WIRE3 and WIRE4 are still unrouted. There are 3 available paths between DEV1 and DEV2 in the topology design.
When you use the Routing Assistant for the unrouted wires, it recommends the path through J13 and P13 because WIRE1 already follows that. This recommended path is listed first, even though shorter paths are available.

A tooltip on the path explains why it is recommended.
Note
When the Routing Assistant recommends a path for the wires from a partially routed multicore, both the Show shortest route only () filter and the Show viable routes only filter () are available on the Routes Table.
Recommended Paths for Nested Multicores
You may have nested multicores.
For example, multicore MC1 contains MC2 (with wires W1 and W2) and MC3 (with wires W3 and W4).
MC1:
MC2
W1 W2MC3
W3 W4
If you select Multicore MC1 and run the Routing Assistant, it considers whether any of the 4 wires W1 to W4 are routed and recommends a path accordingly. The resulting tooltip refers to MC1.
If you select MC2 and run the Routing Assistant, it considers whether W1 or W2 are routed and recommends a path accordingly. The tooltip refers to MC2.
If you select MC3, the Routing Assistant considers whether W3 or W4 are routed. The tooltip refers to MC3.
