Basic Plan

Editor Dialog Box

To access: Double-click a basic plan name under the Plans node in the Project Browser Window, or right-click a basic plan name and choose Open Plan.

Use this dialog box to view and define models in a basic plan.

Note

You can also press Space Bar, enter Open Plan, and choose the Open Plan ribbon action. This opens the basic plan associated with the design that is currently open in the diagram window.

Objects

Field	Description
Add dropdown	Enables you to manually add a new model to the Model table. The dropdown lists the following actions: Add Add an empty model for which you must specify the applicability of all variant options and options. ‘Add’ is the default action selected if you click the icon without expanding the dropdown list of actions. Add OPT Add a model with all options set as optional. Duplicate Add a duplicate of the model currently selected in the dialog box. This is useful if you are adding a model that is similar to an existing one. All of the actions display an Add Model dialog box where you specify the vehicle model name.
Delete the selected Model(s)	Deletes the model that is currently selected in the Model table.
Set Standardized Options	Displays the Set Standardized Options Dialog Box. Use this dialog box to specify the standardized options that are standard within the project. You must include components tagged with these option codes on all physical harnesses.
Hide Variants / Show Variants	Hides or shows the variant option columns in the table.
Filter variants	In the Filter variants field, you can enter a series of characters. A filter is applied to the Model table so that only variant options with names containing that series of characters are listed. The behavior of the filter varies depending on such things as whether you use wildcards and the case (upper or lower) of the specified characters. See “Browser Tab and Dialog Box Filters” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide for further information. Click the icon to clear the filter and view all variant options in the plan. You can click the Edit variants filter icon () to display a Filter Variants dialog box where you select the specific variant options (either by selecting option folders or specific variant options) that you want to be visible in the table. The text box updates with an appropriate wildcard expression to match your selection (that is, an OR’d list of variant options).
Filter options	In the Filter options field, you can enter a series of characters. A filter is applied to the Model table so that only options with names containing that series of characters are listed. Maximize / Restore size /	Increases the size of this dialog box to be almost as big your screen or restores the dialog box to its original size.
Model table	Contains one row for each of the existing models.
Model	Displays the name of the model. In the Filter models field next to the icon, you can enter a series of characters. A filter is applied to the Model table so that only models with names containing that series of characters are listed. Variants	This section of the Model table contains one column for each of the available Variant Options. In a vehicle model row, select the boxes for the variant options that the model includes.
Option Folders and Options	This section of the Model table contains one column for each available Option that you can include in the models. The option columns are grouped based on the Option Folders to which they belong. In a model row, specify whether an option is: STD The option is always included in the Model. This option is therefore ALWAYS present. Although the electrical system design allows for versions of the final product to be produced without the option, the product is not offered without the option. For example, product marketing may decide to make 4W ABS standard. No vehicles are offered without 4W ABS. OPT The model can support this option and the final product is available with or without the option. This increases the harness complexity required to support the final product, since different harness levels may be required to support vehicles with the option and those without the option. Blank The option is not supported by the Model. Although the option has been captured as part of the electrical system design, the option is not offered on the final product. More often than not, options are not available for specific vehicles, for example, Power Moonroof is not available on convertible vehicles. Note If an option is standard for a model, any inclusive options for that parent option must also be standard for the model. Similarly, if an option is optional for a model, any inclusive options must be either optional or standard. If a cell is red, this indicates that there is an issue with the setting. Possible issues are: The option is inactive on the model, but is included by another option that is active on the model. The option is standard or optional in the model, but is exclusive with another option that is standard on the model. NOTE: In the second scenario, you can include two exclusive options in the same model, but they must both be marked as OPT. If one is STD, the other must be unavailable.
Option Combinations	This section of the Model table contains one column for each available valid selection that you can include in models. See Option Combination for a description of option combinations and valid selections (including examples). In a model row, select the boxes for the option combinations that the model includes.
Move selected Model to top / Move selected Model up / Move selected Model down / Move selected Model to bottom	Move the selected model row in the Model table up or down.
