Moving Objects to the Grid

If you import design data into Capital Logic Designer from a design system that does not use a constrained grid, diagram objects may be placed off grid. You can use the Move To Grid action to move objects to the grid.

Prerequisites

  • In the \config\clientprops.xml file you have edited the value of the setting to be “yes” and restarted Capital Logic Designer. If you have not done this the Move To Grid action will not be available. See also the Capital Configuration Files Reference Guide.

Procedure

  1. On the diagram, select the objects to move to the grid.

  2. Press the space bar and enter Move To Grid.

Results

  • Pins snap to the grid.

  • Object boundaries snap to the grid.

  • Connectors mated to selected devices move to device boundaries.

  • The start and end points of each conductor segment snap to the grid.
