Holes

A hole is used to create a direct-to-device connection in Capital Wiring Integrator.

In a Capital Logic Designer design, this would be modeled by a wire connecting directly to a device pin (no connector in between). When the device is placed in a slot in a topology diagram, no connector is created and the system does not know where a connecting signal or wire enters the slot.

A hole can house one or several different wires and, unlike a connector, does not have cavities.

When Capital Wiring Integrator synchronizes wiring from Capital Logic Designer, the action can route wires from a single device pin to multiple harnesses through direct-to-device hole connections. It uses harness layout data to guide wires through the correct holes.

In this example, the Horn_Controller controls both the Horn_Left and the Horn_Right devices. As there are two different harnesses, the synchronization action uses two holes to route the wires. The Design Browser shows the harness Harness_Left contains the wire Wire_left and the harness Harness_right contains the wire Wire_right.
