Change Impact Report
This report identifies the impact of design changes made to all (or a selection) of child designs in a parent design, or all designs from a build list, in a single XLSX report file.
The report is based on the consolidated reports (Consolidated Harness Component BOM Report or Consolidated Harness Wire / Multicore) you configure in the Change Impact Reports Wizard Dialog Box.
This video gives an overview of the report.
For each design, the process creates a “Before” and “After” snapshot of the consolidated report, and then creates the “delta” Change Impact Report which highlights all added, removed, and changed components.
The process matches designs having the same Part Number.

Report Attributes
You can configure the report to include all the attributes as described in the Consolidated Harness Component BOM Report and Consolidated Wire Multicore Report.
In addition, this report includes:
Quantity / Length Before
Quantity / Length After
Quantity / Length Difference
Weighted Quantity / Length Before
Weighted Quantity / Length After
Weighted Quantity / Length Difference
Change Type Added Rows are green. These components have been added by the design change.
Changed Rows are orange. Changed values are in red text. These components are different after the design change. For example a quantity or an attribute value has changed.
Unchanged Rows are not colored. These components remain the same after the design change.
Deleted Rows are red. These components have been removed by the design change.
Weighted Quantity
Weighted quantity columns are calculated based on the Design Take Rate. This allows you make a distinction about the scale of the impact of a change. For example, a change to the quantity of a connector that is in a design that has a take rate of 1%, as opposed to a connector that is in a design that has a take rate of 90%.
Weighted Quantity or Length = Quantity or Length * Take Rate
If a Take Rate is not set on a design, the process assumes 0%.
Weighted quantity “Before” is calculated based on the design Take Rate before the change.
Weighted quantity “After” is calculated based on the design Take Rate after the change.
