Swapping Footprints on

Placed Devices

Where you have a device with multiple footprints, you can swap to a different a footprint without having to re‑instantiate the device.

Prerequisites

• A diagram is open containing a device which has multiple footprints.

Procedure

1. Right-click the required device and select Select Footprint.The Select Footprint dialog box is displayed. Figure 42: Select Footprint

2. Select the required footprint, in this example FP3, and click OK.Figure 43: Select a Different Footprint

Results

• The footprint is swapped and all the pins are mapped automatically. See Figure 44. Figure 44: Footprint Changed
