Capital Formboard Manager User Interface

You can use the Capital Formboard Manager User Interface to select multiple member designs and use the Formboard Manager ribbon, to perform the necessary actions to merge / combine them into a single new formboard diagram.

Formboard Manager Tab

The Formboard Manager tab is displayed on the ribbon when you:

• Click the Merge Formboards icon () on the Capital ribbon to create a new merged design.

• Open an existing Merged / Combined formboard design.

1 — Formboard Manager Ribbon Tab

See “Formboard Manager Ribbon Tab” for details about all actions displayed on this ribbon tab.

2 and 3 — Preview Windows

Use these windows to select and display a read-only preview of your chosen member designs. You can click and drag each window border to re-size. You can pan and zoom each window independently to increase the displayed design area.

Once you have selected the members, you can manually / automatically interact with each one to build up the content of the merged formboard or place them on a combined formboard.

4 — Merged / Combined Formboard Design Window

This window displays the merged / combined formboard design. You can resize, pan, and zoom this window to increase the displayed design area.

Status Bar Tool Tips

The message area on the Status Bar, which runs along the bottom of the screen, displays instructional and dynamic tool tips relevant to the actions you are currently performing.

Place / Merge Console Tab

The Place / Merge tab in the Output Window displays feedback information from the actions you are performing.

Restricted Editing

Caution

To prevent design object changes, bundle length changes, and so on, various ribbon and menu actions are unavailable when you are using Capital Formboard Manager.

Similarly, to preserve design integrity the system prevents you from editing various attributes, which display as protected, when Capital Formboard Manager is active.

Zoom Selected

When you use the Zoom Selected action on objects in the merged formboard, the preview windows with the member harness designs also zoom to the same object if it is present there.

Note

The Shift+Z zoom to RED decoration does not zoom RED decorations in member design preview windows.

Merged / Combined Formboards Content Browser

Access the Select Formboard Diagram Dialog Box to see a browser view of the designs that are in the current merged / combined design.
