Creating a Functional, Production or Technical Module

Code at Project Level

You can create Functional, Production, and Technical Module Codes at the project level. You can specify inclusive and exclusive relationships for the user defined codes; however, these relationships do not apply to technical module codes.

Procedure

1. Press Space Bar and enter Functional or Production Module Codes.If you are using Capital Project Manager, expand the Module Code Maintenance folder in the project tree and double-click the Functional or Production node. The Module Code Dialog Box is displayed.

2. Select the node of the Module Code browser under which you want to create the module code:To create a module code at the top level of the Module Code browser outside of any folders, select the Functional or Production node.

To create a module code in a particular module code folder, select that folder.

3. Depending on the type of module code you want to create, choose from the following:Click to add a Functional (non-technical) module code.

Click to add a Functional technical module code.

Click to add a Production (non-technical) module code.

Click to add a Production technical module code.

The new module code is added to the Module Code browser. Note Once a code is created as a technical module code, it will always be a technical module code. You cannot change a technical code to a non-technical code, and the other way around.

4. Specify the Name, Description, and Assignation Factor for the code, and then choose Mandatory or Obsolete.Note Assignation Factor and Mandatory settings are not applicable to Technical Module Codes.

5. Define the Inclusive or Exclusive relationships for user defined codes.For Technical Module Codes you will see all the codes that are driving the creation of that technical module (both generated and user defined). Instead of Inclusive, this will be the name of the User Defined Combination row (if this technical module code is associated with one). Instead of Exclusive, this will be the name of the Generated Combination row (if this technical module code is associated with one)

6. Click OK.
