Routing Partially Routed Cables
You can manually select missing segments or modify the route automatically to complete the path for partially routed cables.
Note
Partially routed cables can occur if the design of the nodal network and cableway is modified.
Procedure
- From the Cables tab in the Search pane, click the Status dropdown list and choose any or all of the following codes:DPRFNRT (Design Part Routed From End, Not Routed To End)
DNRFPRT (Design Not Routed From End, Part Routed To End)
DPRFPRT (Design Part Routed From End, Part Routed To End)
Click Search. The partially routed cables are listed in the Search pane.
Select a cable in the Search pane. The routed segments and breaks in the cable route are displayed as different colors in the 3D visualization window.
Click the Edit switch () to lock the cable and activate the interactive routing actions.See also Locking Design Objects for Editing.
Click the Find Breaks icon ().The Break Identified in Route dialog box identifies the nodes either side of the missing segments.
Choose one of the following options to complete the cable route:Auto-Route — Selects all the missing segments and completes the cable route automatically.
Find Next — Enables you to evaluate and select each missing segment manually using the Available Routes table.
- (Optional) If the break includes multiple consecutive segments or alternative paths, you can choose specific nodes to select a segment that is not directly connected to a routed segment.Click the Start at and End at dropdown lists and select the nodes on both sides of the segment or type the node IDs of the nodes.Tip The node ID entries are automatically converted to uppercase and will only return nodes of the same case.
Click the Insert dropdown list and select one of the following options to specify how the routed segment will be displayed in the Route Details table:Before First Segment — Displays the segment at the top of the list.
After Last Segment — Displays the segment at the bottom of the list.
After Flagged Segment — Displays the segment after a segment you have selected in the 3D visualization window. Note You must select one segment only to auto-route after a flagged segment.
Click the Auto-Route icon () to route between the two specified nodes or the Auto-Route All Breaks icon () to select all the missing segments and complete the cable route automatically.
Results
The path of the routed cable is displayed using the color specified in the Nodal Network Settings Dialog Box.
