Simulating Production Technical Variations from the PM Codes Tab

When you have created candidate production module(s), you can run a simulation process that will automatically show you how many variants of the module will be created based on their content.

Note

This process allows you to run a simulation on one or more existing PM Codes.

See Simulating Production Technical Variations from the PM Module Explorer for information on running a simulation on the current content of the PM Module Explorer Dialog Box.

You can configure the simulation to be based either on the module codes assigned to the wires or the configuration of the registered derivatives, see Variant Generation by Derivative.

Prerequisites

  • You have created candidate production module(s).

Procedure

  1. Select one or more PM codes in the Module Browser PM Codes Tab.

  2. Right-click and select Modular > Simulate Production Technical Variations.

Alternatively select the Simulate Production Technical Variants action from the Automate > Modules ribbon.

The Simulate Production Technical Variants dialog box displays

  3. Configure the required settings and click OK.

Results

  • The Technical Variations tab opens in the console. It displays the number of variants and their content, which the simulation process calculated. Figure 442: Example - Simulation Results in the Technical Variations Tab
