Adding
an Insulation Run by Specifying Start and End Nodes
You can add an insulation run to a sequence of bundles, specifying start and end nodes that may or may not already exist, and defining layers of insulation to be applied, either individually or using an insulation code.
Procedure
Press Space Bar and enter Start & End. The cursor changes to .
Specify the nodes at which you want to start the insulation run. Either:Position the cursor over an existing node; the cursor changes to . Click to select the node.
Position the cursor over a bundle at the point where you want to add a new reference node; the cursor changes to . Click to place the node and the Node Position Utility Dialog Box is displayed, to fine-tune the placement of the node.
Repeat Step 2 to define the end node for the insulation run.Note It is possible to define additional nodes before the end node, in which case, these nodes (new or existing) will be defined as through nodes for this insulation run. See also Setting the Path of an Insulation Run.
Double-click or press Enter to confirm the selection. The Edit Insulation Run Dialog Box is displayed.
Either:Manually add one or more insulation layers. Click the New button, and then configure the layer details in the Add or Edit Insulation Layer Dialog Box.
See also Adding an Insulation Layer.
Select an insulation Code from the dropdown list, and then click the Apply Code button. All layers configured for the code, in Capital Project Manager, are added to the Insulation Layers table automatically.
- Click OK.
Results
The insulation run is placed onto all bundles between the start and end nodes, as indicated on the design by the display of a repeating pattern of glyphs for each configured layer. Note The pattern used to display the extent of the insulation run is dictated by the Insulation Type selected for each layer. See also the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide.
The insulation run, along with all configured insulation layers, is added to the Harness Design Browser.
