Add Spot Tape Dialog Box

To access: Press Space Bar and enter Spot Tape (requires click to place on a bundle, and then confirmation of the Node Position Utility Dialog Box).

Used to add an application of spot tape to a bundle.

Objects

Field	Description
Name	A unique label for the spot tape (within this design). Type a name, or click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field to select from a list of pre-specified spot tape names maintained in the project’s Object Type Information in Capital Project Manager. If this field is left blank, the spot tape is named according to any default names configured for the project in Capital Project Manager. Optional.
Insulation Code	Offers a list of all insulation codes created for the project in Capital Project Manager. Select the required code from the dropdown list, and then click the Apply Code button; the Attribute table displays each of the tape attributes configured within the code. You can remove the association with the code (leaving all spot tape layers created from the code intact) by clicking the button. See “Creating and Defining an Insulation Code for an Object Type” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide to create insulation codes. Optional.
Library Part	Specifies an association with a tape part in the library. Select the required library part number type (Internal, Customer, or Supplier) and click the ellipsis (...) button. The Part Selection Dialog Box is displayed to search for and insert a tape from the library. You can view details for the associated part by clicking the button. The associated part can be removed by clicking the button. Optional. If a library part is selected, all attributes for which values can be specified against the library part are completed and set to read-only.
BOM ID	Specifies a unique identifier to be displayed against the component in the Bill of Materials table, the Composite BOM table and in Bill of Material reports generated from Capital E/E Reporter. This attribute is only available when a library part is assigned. Optional. BOM IDs can be automatically prefixed in tables and reports based on project preferences you have configured.
Color Code	Specifies the color of the tape. Either type a color code into the field, or select a code from the dropdown list. Optional.
Layer	Specifies the order of the component relative to other components with layer attributes at the same location on the bundle. Lower numbers indicate that the component is nearer the bundle wires. New layers are given numbers rounded to multiples of 10 by default; these can be overwritten. Note It is recommended that sufficient interval is left between layers for you to insert subsequent layers without renumbering. You can give multiple objects the same layer number, or specify 0 to not consider the order of the component. Mandatory.
Material Code	Specifies the material from which the tape is made. Select a material code from the dropdown list. Optional.
MCad ID	If the harness was bridged in from another application (such as Capital Harness Classic or an MCAD application), this field displays the spot tape's unique identifier as derived from the external data. Read-only.
Number of Turns	Specifies the number of times the tape should be wrapped around the bundle. Optional.
Thickness	Specifies the thickness of the tape. This value is used when calculating the extra diameter added to a bundle by the application of a spot tape, for the purpose of selecting a tube of an appropriate bore for a subsequent layer of insulation. Optional.
Type Code	Offers a list of component type codes, as maintained in Capital Component Manager, which can be used to filer the selection of components displayed when searching for a tape using the Part Selection Dialog Box. Optional.
Width	Specifies the width of the tape. Optional.
Option Expression	Specifies the derivatives in which the spot tape exists. To create or edit an option expression, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field and use the Edit Option Expression Dialog Box. Alternatively, you can enter or modify an option expression directly within the field. Optional.
