Layout > Component Graphic and Layer Order Matching
Layer Order
The components in the stack must include a Layer attribute to determine the assembly order of the components. You can specify Layer numbers in the order 10, 20, 30 and so on by default, where a lower number is installed inside or underneath the next higher number.
To assign a Layer attribute to a component, enter a value in the Layer field in the Add / Edit dialog box for the component.
You can also use the Set Layer Order Dialog Box to assign and edit Layer attributes, and automatically solve conflicts to ensure that all component graphics and layer orders match at the component nodes.
Note
The Layer attribute has a default value = “0” when you create a component in a design. The “Validate node component graphics layering” Design Rule Check (DRC) considers a “0” value as undefined”, so you must change the default Layer value to identify the component during the DRC.
If the Layer attribute is undefined, the DRC will use any specified Layer property. Undefined Layer attributes / properties are displayed in the Set Layer Order dialog box as “‑1”.
