Capital E/E Publisher

Process Flow

Capital E/E Publisher usage can be organized into four distinct phases. This User Guide covers the first three phases.

1. Load engineering data — Begin by loading engineering data: For Capital customers, diagrams have been created using other Capital tools. An existing project is imported and opened in Capital E/E Publisher. See Importing a Project and Opening a Project. Foreign data is loaded using the Capital Connectors framework, then partitioned and rendered using Capital Schematic Generator for Logic Designer. 2. Prepare service documentation — This task comprises the following elements: Partitioning — The content of large, complex, engineering diagrams may need sub‑division across several diagrams. See Partitioning Diagrams.

Formatting — Data visibility, fonts and colors used will need to be specific for service organizations. Changes may also extend to wire coloring, and the exchange of symbols. See Formatting Diagrams.

Embellishing — Details which are not available during the engineering process are added to the diagrams. This could include service names for objects or locations, service notices, and additional languages. See Embellishing Diagrams.

3. Generate service documentation — The packager generates the service documentation. See Generating Documentation in Capital E/E Publisher.

4. View the generated service documentation Package - Packages are self-contained folders that can be placed on a server, CD/DVD, memory stick or tablet for viewing by any number of users without the need to connect, or install a Capital software application.
