Optimized Pin and Multicore Indicator Positioning

When you display a generated wiring view in Layout View where devices and inline connectors follow the relative positions in Capital Systems Integrator, wire crossovers can occur because of the placement of pin positions, and shield and indicator positioning.

When you generate a wiring view, the system optimizes the connector and device pin list ordering and multicore indicator positions by default to enhance the readability of the visualized wiring view. You can also choose to switch sides of the pin lists on pin list objects, compared to the logical layout, to reduce crossovers and any manual edits required to clean the wiring view.

Example 1: Optimized Pin Positioning Within the Pin List for Multicore

				Shields

Optimizes the order of pin positions on connectors and devices to terminate shield paths at adjacent pins to create shorter shield paths with fewer crossovers.

Example 2: Optimized Multicore Indicator Positioning

Multicore indicators are positioned on the closest segment to the conductor that is connected to the device to reduce shield termination length, resulting in shorter shield paths and fewer crossovers.

Example 3: Optimized Pin Positioning for Improved Multiple

				Grouping

You can use the “Allow pins to change sides” option in the Advanced Spacing Controls dialog box to change the sides of pin list objects to create a cleaner wiring view with fewer crossovers and shorter routing paths.

The setting is preserved for all generated wiring views and saved against the design if you store the view. See also Generating a Wiring View of a Synthesized Signal or Multicore.
