Connectivity Hub reference design pattern
The typical Connectivity Hub workflow spans three artifacts:
- Platform Design — the conceptual E/E Architecture, with components and synthesized connectivity (pathways).
- Connectivity Hub tab — where a Platform Component's synthesized connectivity is mapped down to real device or ICD pins (see Pin Mapping).
- Functional Design — the detailed schematic-level design, generated from the set of ICDs that Connectivity Hub produces.
In other words: Platform Design defines what connects to what; Connectivity Hub maps that connectivity onto real pins; and the resulting ICDs feed the generation of a Functional Design — the detailed electrical schematic. This is the "concept to implementation" maturation path described in the overview.
