Changing a Diagram Border During Publishing

Capital E/E Publisher enables you to easily change only the diagram border symbol during publishing in order to meet your organization’s publication requirements. Under certain scenarios if you use a style set to change the border, it sometimes has the unintended effect of applying style and moving decorations that were not fixed. The change Border functionality allows you to do this without altering any other element of the style set which may otherwise require manual reworking, thereby maintaining the original engineering intent.

The functionality is available in all Capital E/E Publisher packagers apart from Capital Change Explorer.

The select Border button on the Generate Documentation Dialog (available for both Wiring or Harness style sets) opens the Change Border Dialog which enables you to apply a different border symbol to your selected diagram, alternatively, specify that no border be applied, or confirm that the existing border be used. A preview pane is provided when a change to the border symbol is made.

Note

The use of the Border button is mutually exclusive to the Style Set drop-down menu. If you select any style set then it becomes grayed out and is not available for selection.

Once a border is selected the Style Set field label dynamically updates to reflect your latest selection.

Note

When changing a diagram border during publishing no change is made to the border for any Related Entity Decorations (“REDs”).

Creating a Package as a Web Service

Tags are also available in the package settings section of the packaging.xml file to support background task publishing using the PackagingTask web service, enabling you to change borders for both Logic and Harness designs.

Note

If both border and style set tags are applied, the style set tags take precedence and the documentation package is published using these settings.
