Variant Connector

A variant connector is a connector that is used in a particular configuration (for example, it is used in left-hand drive vehicles but not right-hand drive ones).

You can define variant connectors in a Signal Map dialog box by copying connectors and specifying variant option expressions on them. You can do this before or after running wiring synthesis. See Creating a Variant Connector in the Signal Map for a Slot, Inline or Interface Connector.

If you do this before running wiring synthesis, it allows synthesis to ensure wires route through the correct connector in each configuration. It also enables synthesis to create variant wires where required.
