Generating Documentation in Capital E/E Publisher

Ground and Power Signal

You can select an object and find its power source and ground connections by using the action Ground and Power signal. A trace is initiated from the selected object which returns all the connected objects which are tagged as either ground or power.

Figure 68 shows an example diagram where signal tracing has been run.

A device is treated as ground if either of these conditions is satisfied:

  • It is a ground device

  • It has the property GROUND=true

A device is treated as power device if either of these conditions is satisfied:

  • The name of the device contains "Power" or "Battery"

  • It has the property POWER=true
