Merging Nodes

The merge process uses a set of criteria to determine whether the nodes on the selected bundle on the member design and the target bundle on the merged design are equal, similar, or different.

Equal

The merge process classes nodes as Equal when all of the following are satisfied:

  • The same bundles are connected.

  • Any node components (splice, clip, connector, device, or grommet) are the same.

  • Any route codes on the nodes are the same.

Similar

The merge process classes nodes as Similar in the following situation:

  • If nodes have a different offset that is within the set Bundle Tolerance, you have the option to Force Merge them. Only applicable for Reference nodes.

  • If route code is different, the nodes are classed as different and cannot be merged. You must place the bundle instead of merging.
