Create/Edit Device Dialog Box

To access: Opens as a new window when the create icon is clicked when creating a new device or when the edit icon is clicked when editing a device.

The fields in this window are used to specify basic details for a device. The dialog box also allows access to sections that specify Properties, Pins, Footprints and Extra Details.

Table 1. Create or Edit Device Dialog Box Contents

Field	Description
Part Number	The part number associated with the device. Mandatory.
Group	The component group to which the device belongs. This can only be "Device". Read-only.
Description	Enter a description for the device of up to 40 alphanumeric characters. Optional.
Status	The status of the device. Indicates whether it can be selected for use in other applications (New or Current) or whether it can be deleted from the database (Obsolete). Mandatory.
Color Code	Color codes are used to define device colors, and link an identifying code to a description of the color. Enter a letter of the color to display a list of possible values. Mandatory. The full list is: B = Black, G = Green, K = Pink, L = Light Green, N = Brown, N = Natural, O = Orange, P = Violet, R = Red, S = Gray, U = Blue, W = White, Y = Yellow. Note: if an incorrect code is entered, or this field is left blank an error message is displayed.
Material Code	Select a material code. These codes must have been created previously. Enter a letter of the material to display a list of possible values. Mandatory.
Type Code	Select a component type code. These codes must have been created previously. Enter a letter of the component type to display a list of possible values. Mandatory.
