Displaying a BOM
Table on a Topology Diagram
You can add a Bill Of Materials (BOM) table to a topology diagram to display details of all the currently placed parts. The table automatically updates as new parts are added, removed, or edited on the diagram.
View the following video to see an example of how to add a design-level table to a topology diagram to display the current bill of materials (BOM).
Prerequisites
- Your topology diagram is open and has design-level objects from an associated logical design placed on the diagram.
Procedure
From Capital Logic Designer, press Space Bar and enter Styles. The Style Sets Dialog Box is displayed.
In the tree menu, select the style set to work with, and then navigate to Design > Decorations and select Tables.
Click Add (+) to display the New Table Decoration Dialog Box, set the Table Type to Plug-in Table and click OK.An item called Plug-in Table is added to the Tables set.
Select the Plug-in Table option. The right‑hand side of the screen displays the Styling Options applicable to tables. Note When choosing a Table Style, a sample plugin table TopologyDesignPluginTable.java is available for use in the folder \doc\plugin\examples\Java\src\com\example\table\design. This plug-in must be compiled and placed in the \plugin folder before becoming available. For more information about developing and using extensibility plugins, see the PluginDevelopment.pdf file located in the doc\plugin folder of your Capital software installation.
In the Table Justification grid, select the top right point, to indicate that the top right corner of the table will be the reference point when placing the table.
In the Nominal Origin grid, select the top right point, to indicate that the top right corner of the diagram border, (the Owner), will be the other reference point when placing the table.Set both the Horizontal and Vertical Offsets to -1, to ensure the table does not overlap with the border.
Ensure that the Visibility options Visible and Locked are selected.
Click Apply, and then OK.
Press Space and enter Apply to all.
Results
The BOM table is displayed in the top right corner of the diagram, inside the border.
