Routing of Multicores with Pigtail Wires
When routing multicore shield pigtails, Capital Wiring Integrator prioritizes shield allocation within the multicore harness, ensuring that the shield is routed alongside the multicore cable. Pigtail wires connected to the shield are checked for routing feasibility within the multicore harness. If routing is not possible, the pigtail is placed in the unrouted folder. This process ensures the intended multicore layout is maintained.
In the following example, the logical design includes device DEV1, which is connected to DEV2 via a multicore cable, with one end having a pigtail which terminates at ground device GND.

In the topological layout, an inline connector is used to pass the harness bundles to the ground device.

During synchronization, the system routes the multicore and shields through one harness, while the pigtail wire remains unrouted.

Note
The Sync tab in the Output Window provides the reason for any failure to route the pigtail wire, typically because it spans multiple harnesses.
You can edit the topology if you want, or you can use the Routing Assistant to place the inline and thereby implement the pigtail wire. You can also run Routing Assistant on the inline itself to route the multiple pigtails that pass through it.
