and Selecting Objects by Attribute or Property

This topic explains how to search for an object in a diagram by using a value for a particular attribute or property.

Procedure

1. With the diagram open, press Space Bar and enter Select by Attribute/Property.The Select by Attribute/Property Dialog is displayed.

2. Specify the following:In the Attribute/Property field, enter the property or attribute name

In the Value field, specify the value for which you are searching.

Use the Regular Expression option to specify whether the value string you entered is an exact value to be matched (unselected) or is a partial string that is part of a longer value (selected).

3. Click OK.

4. Any objects with matching values for the specified attribute or property are selected in the diagram and in any browser trees where they appear.
